Two floors, and the layout is built for people who'd rather not share a bathroom.
Upstairs:
- Bedroom 1: Queen bed with its own en-suite bath (tub/shower combo)
- Bedroom 2: Queen bed with its own en-suite bath (tub/shower combo)
Main level:
- Living room with a Roku TV for your streaming logins
- Full kitchen with an eat-in dining area
- Half bath
- Washer and dryer, right there on the main floor — no basement, no laundromat
The kitchen's set up to actually cook in — full-size range and oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and a Keurig. Pots, pans, knives, and the rest of it are all here, which matters if you're staying a few weeks and cooking most nights.
Gig fiber internet (1 Gbps) runs throughout. The dining table works well as a laptop setup — there's no dedicated desk, but the table's the right height and the wifi will keep up with anything you throw at it.
Out back there's a patio and a large yard, good for letting the dog out or taking a walk. Two parking spaces are labeled for Unit 7.
You've got the whole condo to yourselves.
The entire condo is yours — both floors, the kitchen, the laundry, the patio. Nothing shared inside.
Two parking spaces out front are labeled for Unit 7, so you're not circling the lot. There's a trash dumpster on site, which beats hauling bags around on a longer stay.
The yard behind the building is shared with the other Parkwood units. Plenty of room to walk the dog — we just ask you clean up after them.
You're off West Walnut in the Parkwood Condos, set well back from the road — quiet, even though you're close to everything. ETSU is five minutes out, and so are Johnson City Medical Center and the Mountain Home VA campus, which is why a lot of our guests here are travel nurses, residents, and folks in town for treatment or a family member's care. Downtown Johnson City and its restaurants are about seven minutes.
Groceries are five minutes away, which matters more than people expect on a longer stay. Jonesborough is fifteen to twenty minutes if you want the Storytelling Festival or a slow Saturday on Main Street, and Bristol Motor Speedway is thirty-five to forty on race weekends.
Drive times:
- 5 min — ETSU campus
- 5 min — JCMC & the VA medical center
- 5 min — groceries
- 7 min — downtown Johnson City
- 15–20 min — Jonesborough
- 25 min — Kingsport
- 35–40 min — Bristol Motor Speedway
- 1 hr — Boone, NC · 1 hr 15 — Asheville, NC
You'll want a car here — most of what you need is a five-minute drive rather than a walk. Two labeled spaces come with the unit, so parking is never the problem.
Look for the Parkwood Condos sign at the entrance off West Walnut; it's easy to drive past the first time. Unit 7 sits back from the road once you're in the lot.
I-26 is a quick hop when you're heading toward Kingsport, Bristol, or Asheville.
- There are about six steps up to the front porch, and roughly fifteen more up to the bedrooms. Both bedrooms and both full baths are on the upper floor — all the sleeping is upstairs.
- It's a condo, so you've got neighbors on both sides. The walls hold up well and the units are quiet, but you may hear the occasional door or footsteps — telling you now so it's not a surprise.
- The patio is bare at the moment. The space is there, just no furniture on it yet.
- One TV, in the living room. No TVs in the bedrooms.
- Self check-in with a smart lock. There's a lockbox with a physical key as backup, and we'll send you what you need before you arrive.
- Pets welcome — two max, $65 per pet. Please clean up after them in the yard and don't leave chewers home alone.
- No smoking inside. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. for the neighbors.
- Check-in is 4 p.m., check-out is 10 a.m.
