About Valencia, Spain
What is Valencia Known For?
Valencia, located on Spain's eastern coast, is the third-largest city in the country and the capital of the Valencian Community. It's famous for its vibrant local culture, rich history, and stunning architecture. But what makes Valencia truly unique? Its combination of urban energy and seaside tranquility, coupled with a climate that allows for year-round outdoor activities, makes it a must-visit destination.
Valencia is home to incredible landmarks like the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex that houses a planetarium, an opera house, and a science museum among other attractions. For history enthusiasts, the 13th-century Valencia Cathedral, which claims to house the Holy Grail, is a must-visit. The city's old town, Barrio del Carmen, is a charming labyrinth of narrow streets filled with bohemian cafes and street art.
What Can You Do in Valencia?
You'll never run out of things to do in Valencia, regardless of the season. In the warmer months, you can sunbathe on Malvarrosa Beach, take a boat tour in Albufera Natural Park, or visit the Oceanografic, the largest aquarium in Europe.
