The wife and I wanted to get away from Detroit to decompress with our dog and Dockside Daydream accomplished it's task! Heading out from the house, crossing a small bridge and walking the community loop allowed for to almost get in a mile walk with the dog a few times throughout the day. And she lives looking out those big windows. I brought my mountain bike and hit DTE Foundation tail and the trails at Brighton Rec. We crushed food and drink at Zukey's tavern and enjoyed the Cider at Ore Creek. The dock and big windows made great for locations for evening reading. The bed was comfy and then home was generally very "homey" One should expect cabin vibes. Meaning it does have well water, some uneven flooring, wood paneling and it's not fully updated. If you are used to Michigan cabins, this is not anything new. of you are not used this, it might bum you out. Though I gave 5 stars, I would say it was more like 4.5 for some small things.

It was an ok stay. Nothing bad that ruins the stay or experience but a couple of little details that can be improved to go from 3 stars to 4 or 5 stars. Bedrooms are small but the living area has a lot of space. The kids room is cozy and the toys and books there are a nice touch. The kitchen is well equipped and appliances are new. The one bathroom is old, the shower and shower curtains are also old and the water has a strong iron/cooper smell. Towels are also a bit old and have an odor. It is clear thay they are trying to slowly remodel the property and improve it but it is still not 100% there. The lake on the property is greenish, probably why all the pictures are from the winter season.

This area is extremely beautiful, especially on the water through the chain of lakes. The home is rustic and very peaceful.
