About this property

This is a charming and comfortable 645-square-foot cabin on Lake Winona's edge. It features one bedroom, a full kitchen, an outdoor grill, 3 lovely decks, and a dock. The cabin has a retro and modern feel and was built in the 1940s. It is available for monthly rental from April through November. You can enjoy morning coffee on the deck with the lake breeze, a sunset cocktail, and an evening paddle. You can swim, hike up to Eagle Ledge, take the canoe or kayak, search for loons and giant turtles, marvel at foliage, and golf on big mountains nearby. WFH at the desk overlooking the little bay. Some dogs are allowed with pre-approval. New Hampton is located in close proximity to both Meredith and Laconia, offering a harmonious blend of tranquil lake life and easy access to the vibrant life of the lake's region.

You can never decide which seat to curl up on because every seat in the cabin offers a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding hills. You can swim off the dock in shallow, clear water. There are many good restaurants in Meredith and nearby towns, 2 large grocery stores, a movie theater, and other conveniences within a 10-minute drive. Just bring your groceries and a book because you will not want to leave the porch or the window seat. The lake is fascinating at night. You can watch the light change over the foothills from the porch.

There is easy access to lots of adventures without getting in your car. You can paddle down the Snake River to Lake Waukewan, walk or ride the 50-mile scenic railroad tracks (only used a tiny bit in the fall), fish off the dock, or grab one of my floats and admire the sky. Some dog breeds are allowed, and an additional $150 pet fee is charged for cleaning. Dogs must be approved first. Sheets and towels will not be provided. Guests can request linens for an additional cleaning fee of $100.

Guests have access to the whole house, the grill, the decks, the dock, boats (kayaks), and the floats in the storage area. The kitchen is stocked with cooking basics, spices, and cookware. Internet access is free, too. There is a pet fee, and pets must be pre-approved. There is a fee for additional people, and additional numbers must be approved. You must pick up after your dog, and dogs need to be supervised closely or leashed when in the neighborhood as one of the neighbors is afraid of dogs. In the woods, let the pup be a wild beast!

Please note that the cabin is only available for monthly or longer rentals. The lake is quiet, 1.3 miles long, and 3 miles around. No Jet skis are allowed on the lake. Some folks have little fishing boats on the lake. There is a boat launch by the intersection of Winona and Anchorage, 1/4 mile away from the house. The water supply to the house is from the lake. It is fine to shower, clean, or cook with boiled water. However, it's best to drink bottled or fresh water. Garbage/recycling should be taken with you unless pre-arranged. Golf is about 3 miles away. Meridith has cute shops, as well. Please do not use the beach because it is for the residents of the association that do not have beach access.
