Location
On the border of Switzerland and Italy, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino, Lugano is famous for its stunning location, rich cultural heritage and excellent restaurants and cafés. The city hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. One of Switzerland’s most visited museums, MASI (the Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland) (20 minutes walk) hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions.
A day trip to Lago Lugano is a must, but if you do not have time, then a walk along the waterfront promenade in Parco Ciani (23 minutes walk) offers stunning views out over the lake. For business travellers, the apartment is just an 11-minute walk from the Centro Esposizioni Lugano exhibition centre and an 18-minute walk from the Palazzo Dei Congressi Lugano.
The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour and 5 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 20-minute journey. Arriving by train? Lugano’s railway station is a 25-minute walk from the apartment.
