Location
The picture-perfect city of Lugano has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing holiday or business trip. On the border of Switzerland and Italy, it is famous for its stunning location, rich cultural heritage and excellent restaurants and cafés. The city hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. MASI (the Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland) (20-minute walk) hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions.
Not to be missed is a day trip on the Lago Lugano. If you prefer to stay on land, take a stroll along Lugano’s famous waterfront, with breathtaking views over the lake. Then head to the heart of the city, Piazza della Riforma (22 mins walk) for a coffee or aperitivo in one of the many cafés that line the square.
The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour and 5 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 20-minute journey. Arriving by train? Lugano’s railway station is a 25-minute walk from the apartment.
