Äkästupa – Traditional Kelo Log Cabin in the Heart of Äkäslompolo
Äkästupa is a beautiful and atmospheric kelo log cabin built in 1988, located in a genuine and traditional cabin village near the center of Äkäslompolo. Here, a holiday can be enjoyed without a car – the services of Äkäslompolo are within walking distance, and during the winter season, a ski bus operates from a nearby stop.
The cabin exudes authentic Lapland charm and is decorated in a 90s style with pine furniture, preserving its original spirit. Äkästupa is in good original condition and has been excellently maintained over the years – it's a cabin where time has pleasantly stood still.
On the ground floor, there is a cozy combined kitchen/living room and a living area. The ground floor also includes a bedroom with a double bed that is 160 cm wide, a toilet, a shower, and a bathroom.
Upstairs, there are two separate beds, each 80 cm wide, which are ideal for children or additional guests.
The kitchen is moderately equipped. There is no dishwasher, but on holiday, there's time to wash dishes by hand – for many, this is part of the cabin experience. There is no washing machine in the cabin, so this should be considered when planning your stay.
The property features a spacious sauna. The traditional Finnish electric sauna heater provides soft and enjoyable steam – just what you can expect from a cabin holiday in Lapland.
