The Space
Our home is designed for comfort and connection, perfectly suited for couples or families. With an open layout and dedicated spaces for relaxation, you’ll find plenty of room to spread out or gather together.
The Enclosed Porch: One of the home’s best features. Enjoy the fresh Maine air and lake views without the bugs. Outfitted with comfortable patio furniture, it’s the ideal spot for evening drinks or a rainy-day book.
The Heart of the Home: Our spacious open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area was designed to keep the focus where it belongs: the lake. Whether you’re prepping a local Maine meal in the kitchen or gathered around the dining table, the floor to ceiling views ensure you never miss a sunset or the sight of the loons on Pocasset Lake. It is the perfect setting for shared meals and slow, sun drenched afternoons.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Arrangements (Sleeps 6):
Bedroom 1: Primary suite with a King Bed and private en-suite bathroom with standing shower. For those who enjoy a quiet movie night before bed, you’ll find the home’s only TV tucked away in the King primary suite.
Bedroom 2: Comfortable Queen Bed.
Bedroom 3: Features a Twin Pull-out Chair, perfect for a child.
Living Area: Includes a Pull-out Couch for additional sleeping flexibility.
Kitchen & Dining:
A fully equipped kitchen ready for family taco nights or a Maine lobster bake.
Appliances: Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and coffee maker.
Cookouts: Choose your flavor. A charcoal grill for the traditionalists and a propane grill for quick, easy meals.
Complimentary: We provide a selection of spices. Please bring along your favorite coffee/tea.
Outdoor Living & Lake Access:
Life on the Water: Enjoy glass-calm mornings fishing for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, White Perch, and Chain Pickerel right from the dock or our provided canoe.
Watercraft: Explore Pocasset Lake with our two kayaks and one canoe. We provide assorted life jackets for your safety. Safety on the water is a priority in Maine, not just for peace of mind, but as a matter of state law.
The Waterfront: Direct access to the water for swimming, fishing, or simply soaking in the sun.
Home Comforts/Essentials:
Unplugged Living Areas: You won't find a TV in our main living room or the enclosed porch. These spaces are intentionally reserved for the crackle of the grill, the call of the loons, and real conversation.
The Essentials: We provide high-speed Wi-Fi for your convenience, but we encourage you to leave the laptop closed and the notifications off.
Connection Over Consumption: We’ve traded the "noise" of multiple screens for a selection of board games, puzzles, and the best "show" in Maine, the view of Pocasset Lake right outside your door.
While the property does not feature an outdoor fire pit, you can still enjoy a cozy evening by the indoor, on demand propane fireplace, perfect for relaxing with a good book at the touch of a button.
Restorative Sleep: To ensure you wake up refreshed, the only HDTV in the home is tucked away in the primary suite for a quiet movie night before bed.
Plush Linens: Fresh linens and soft towels are provided for every guest, so you can pack light and focus on the lake.
Easy Mornings: Two full bathrooms make morning routines seamless for the whole family, leaving more time for coffee on the porch.
Laundry: For your convenience during longer stays, we provide an on-site washer and dryer.
Location & Nearby Attractions:
Located in the charming, historic town of Wayne, you are perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of "Quiet Maine." Wayne is a place where time seems to slow down, making it the ultimate destination for those who want to truly disconnect.
Pocasset Lake: Right outside your door. Known for its exceptionally calm waters, it is a haven for kayakers, canoers, and loons. There is no public access on this lake
Wayne Village: A quick 5-minute drive takes you to the heart of the village. Grab a legendary scoop at Tubby’s Ice Cream or head to the Wayne General Store for a morning pastry and local Maine charm.
Cultural Gems: Just 15 minutes away, the Theater at Monmouth (The Shakespearean Theater of Maine) offers a stunning calendar of professional plays and dedicated children’s programming in a beautiful historic setting—perfect for a family night out.
Golf & Recreation: If you’re looking to hit the links, the highly-rated Springbrook Golf Course is just a short drive away.
Central Maine Hubs: For expanded dining, breweries, and groceries, the state capital of Augusta and the college town of Waterville (home to Colby College) are both within a 20–30 minute drive.
Coastal Day Trips: You are perfectly positioned for a "Maine Day." Head 1 hour south to Freeport, the epicenter of LL Bean and world class outlet shopping, or continue just a bit further (1 hour 15 mins) to the vibrant food and arts scene of Portland.
Guest Access
Guests will have exclusive access to the entire home, the enclosed porch, and the private waterfront area. Self-check-in is available via a secure keypad.
Your stay includes access to the entire home and all outdoor amenities. Canoes and kayaks are provided for your use; please check the shed for an assortment of life jackets
While we love giving our guests space to unplug, we are just a phone call away if you need anything during your stay.
Other Things to Note
Pet Policy: Please note that this property is strictly a pet-free home. We love our furry friends at our other locations, but to keep this home at its best, no pets are permitted.
Safety: The property is equipped with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and a fire extinguisher. Life jackets are provided and must be worn while using watercraft.
Maine requires that every person on board a watercraft, including kayaks and canoes, has a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket that is properly fitted and in good condition.
While the law requires children under 10 to wear them at all times, we strongly encourage everyone to wear their life jackets whenever they are on the lake. Maine’s waters can be deceptively cold, and even the strongest swimmers can be caught off guard. We’ve provided an assortment of life jackets for your use. Please ensure you select the correct size. Let’s keep your lake memories safe!
Inclement Weather: Power outages can occur during Maine storms. We recommend travel insurance for peace of mind, as we cannot offer refunds for weather-related issues.
Early Check-In: We may be able to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs for a $50 fee. Please contact us to request an early or late check out accommodation. Please note this is generally not available during the summer months.
