Lakefront resort town on Bear Lake (often called the 'Caribbean of the Rockies') with sandy beaches, marinas, seasonal shops and restaurants, and a compact main strip along Bear Lake Boulevard (State Route 30). Local highlights within short distance: North Beach / Rendezvous Beach State Park, Bear Lake State Park marina, boat and jet-ski rentals, Pickleville Playhouse, raspberry shake stands and small grocery / outfitters. Quiet residential blocks and vacation cabins are a short walk or drive from the boulevard.
Most visitors arrive and move around by car; SR-30 (Bear Lake Boulevard) is the primary artery through town. Walkability is good along the main strip and to nearby beaches and restaurants, but most sights, marinas and trailheads require a short drive. Bike riding is common in summer; expect heavy pedestrian and vehicle congestion during holiday weekends. No local public transit; nearest regional bus or shuttle services are limited—plan on driving or arranging private transfers. Snow and icy roads in winter mean a 4WD or chains may be advisable for some routes.
A $35 damage waiver is included as part of the cleaning fee for each reservation. This waiver helps cover accidental damage during your stay, up to $1,500, and is included automatically with your booking.
