Two of the city’s must-see sites are the Romanesque cathedral of San Lorenzo (3-minute walk) and the monumental Piazza De Ferrari (5-minute walk).
To fully appreciate the city and its food, the best market is the Mercato Orientale in Via XX Settembre (8 minutes walk). Otherwise, there are street markets every day across most of the city. Genoa is well-known for its excellent cuisine, so there are many great restaurants across the city.
The lively port area is a 5-minute walk from the apartment. The modern Aquarium of Genoa is worth a visit. The Porto Antico (5 minutes walk) is a huge cultural space with many events, exhibitions and great places to eat out.
