  Overall, our stay was good! Being able to take a super short walk to the beach was our favorite part of things. You have the opportunity to pay for an early check-in; however, knowing whether or not you’re approved for early check-in takes awhile. This process was a bit stressful for us, considering we had people coming who needed to know what time to fly in, when to start their 2-hour drive, etc. There was also a gentleman (owner or maintenance man, maybe?) who showed up an hour or two before checkout time and entered the garage, started working on the lawn, etc. It made us feel a bit rushed to get out. We also had some issues with the remotes not working for the TVs and the heat not turning on. We were only there for a short period of time, so we didn’t find it necessary to escalate to the hosts; however, I’m sure they would’ve been happy to help if we did! None of these “issues” were detrimental to our stay—it’s a good property in a good location, and we made great memories!

  We recently rented this home for our church's women's fall spiritual retreat. This stay for our group of 21 ladies was more than we expected. We chose this home for its size, proximity to the shore, and great accommodations. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find the house had been recently updated. It was absolutely beautiful...bright, serene, and peaceful! The cleanliness of the home was great! The attention to detail was appreciated. I love a well stocked kitchen and this one hit the mark. We had everything we needed, even two crock-pots that came in handy. There was plenty of extra bedding, folding tables and chairs for our group. Communication with the property management company was superb throughout our stay. All and any issues were quickly discussed and resolved. We had issues with the air mattresses holding air, within hours we had new air mattresses delivered. The hot tub blew a breaker while we were using, the service technician was there within the hour of our call, and kindly explained how to avoid that happening again. Thanks to their camera system, they even let us know when we inadvertently left our car doors open outside, after bringing items in. We even had the honor of meeting the owners of the property during our stay. Their welcoming and gracious spirit were as beautiful as the home they shared with us. Every lady that left our retreat remarked on what an amazing time we had. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

  Management responded quickly to all questions. It was a nice spot that worked well for a group of couples with kids. Nice to have a beach area in back to Play volleyball. A nice walk through the dunes to a nice big beach on Lake Michigan.

  We had 17 people-11 adults + 6 children (7yo-15yo) The house is at the end of a quiet, established residential neighborhood. The pros-The house is clean & comfortable. It has enough beds for all of us, 2 full kitchens, 2 laundry areas, a picnic table style kitchen table we all fit around. The house is well equipped with bath towels, linens, & kitchen supplies to prep & serve 20+ppl. The “penthouse” is a suite-bedroom, bathroom, sauna space on top level with an amazing view of the lake. The back deck has a grill, firepit, and hot tub-all worked without any trouble. The sand volleyball court is well maintained w/ soft sand-volleyballs & sand toys on site. The path to Lake Street Beach is a short distance thru sand & dune vegetation, then a paved path. The beach is awesome! Communication with host was wonderful-Hilary & her team always responded quickly and were attentive to our needs. The cons-There are no ramps between the 6 levels of the home-just stairs. There are no bedrooms or bathroom on the “main”level. One full bathroom is currently out of order. You must go thru the “pass thru” bedroom or go around outside to access the 2nd kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and the penthouse. Several of us got chigger bites along the path to the beach. The vrbo photos show this house in its best lighting/staging/angles. We were slightly disappointed at the actual lot size & interior spaces. Without hesitation, I would recommend this house for a large gathering 🙂

  Multiple amenities were not available. The photos online were not up-to-date with what was in the house. Notified late/last minute the hot tub was broken with no eta on repair during the stay. Saturday into Sunday afternoon, there was no hot water in the whole house + guest house. The maintenance guy had mentioned that the AC could not be turned on until June, but the owner communicated to me that it could be turned on. The main kitchen stove burners half of them worked. It was unfortunate to have to hear from local kids that this place was involved in a gang shootout where there was evidence of violence still present. This made our guests feel unsafe during the weekend stay. The timers on the gas grill and firepit were inaccurate, had to keep resetting them. Hopefully, by the next reservation, your other bathroom will be finished and the sink won't be in a clothes closet.
