Chippewa Valley Century Ride makes Memorial Day a pedal party
Ride scenic Chippewa Valley routes from the fairgrounds, choosing your distance for an all-day Memorial Day tradition along rivers, forests, and farm roads.
Event details
Turn Memorial Day weekend into a ride through Wisconsin backroads at the 40th Chippewa Valley Century Ride in Chippewa Falls. You start at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds and choose a 35, 50, 75, or 100 mile route that traces the Chippewa River and Flambeau River, with stretches past farm fields, Lake Wissota, Lake Holcombe, and the kettle moraine terrain of the Chippewa County Forest.
This is a fully supported, non-profit ride, so you can keep your focus on pacing and scenery. Four stocked rest stops provide fresh sandwiches, fruit, and Chippewa Springs water, with support vehicles on course. Plan your day around the support cutoff at 4:00 PM and the post-ride meal window that ends at 5:00 PM.
Registration typically opens at 7:00 AM on Sunday, May 25, 2026, and most riders roll out by 10:00 AM. If you arrive the day before, you can pick up your packet at the Saturday night pre-ride party hosted by Spring Street Sports in downtown Chippewa Falls. Pre-register by May 4 to reserve the commemorative 40th anniversary t-shirt, bring light layers for variable spring conditions, and remember that helmets are required.
Back at the fairgrounds, you finish with a community meal featuring locally made bratwurst, soda, and Leinenkugel’s beer, with vegetarian meals available when requested on your pre-registration form. Youth riders under 18 must ride with an adult, and extra meal tickets are available for non-riding friends and family for $10. For a stay that pairs well with the ride, look at vacation rentals near Lake Wissota, or base yourself in Chippewa Falls or Altoona for quick access to the start and an easy post-ride stop for ice cream.
