Pancakes and maple-making in Maryland’s mountain park
Watch sap boil into syrup, ride haywagons, and sample pancakes and bluegrass during a sweet March weekend at Cunningham Falls State Park.
Event details
March in the Catoctin Mountains smells like woodsmoke and warm syrup. Cunningham Falls State Park’s Maple Syrup Festival turns the William Houck Area into a hands-on sugar camp, with hourly boil demonstrations and plenty of family-friendly ways to learn how sap becomes syrup.
Come hungry for the pancake breakfast, then stay for hayrides and live music before finishing the day with a waterfall walk or a lakeside stroll at Hunting Creek Lake.
