Event details

AlpinFilm brings the Teton Climbers’ Coalition’s curated collection of mountain films to the Center for the Arts each January. Located two blocks south of Town Square, the venue spans 240 South Glenwood Street and 265 South Cache Street.

Now in its third year, the festival has established itself as Jackson Hole’s premier winter film gathering, reviving the spirit of the original Alpinist Film Festival that drew more than 2,000 attendees between 2004 and 2008.

The 2026 dates are January 16 and 17, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and films running from 7:00 to 10:00 PM each night. Tickets are priced at $25 per night or $40 for the full weekend for in person attendance, with virtual streaming available for $20 per night or $30 for the weekend.

Programming spans climbing, ski mountaineering, ultra running, and expedition documentaries, with shorter films leading into feature length closers. Festival Director Christian Beckwith describes the curation as a lineup specifically tailored for a Jackson Hole audience, selected from more than 300 submissions.

What distinguishes AlpinFilm from festivals like Banff or Telluride is its nonprofit, community driven mission, with 100 percent of proceeds supporting the Teton Climbers’ Coalition’s climbing stewardship work. The 500 seat Center Theater creates an intimate atmosphere where pre show socials are considered as important as the films themselves.

Free parking is available at the Center for the Arts campus, with additional options in the downtown parking garage, which is free during event hours and $12 overnight. The 2026 theme, For the Love of the Land, focuses on public lands stewardship.
