Event details

Every July, as the Yampa River winds lazily through town and the mountains glow in alpine sunlight, downtown Steamboat Springs transforms into a kaleidoscope of creativity. Art in the Park, one of the most anticipated weekends on the summer calendar, returns July 12–13, 2025, bringing two days of local flavor, artistic expression, and all-ages fun to the heart of the Yampa Valley.

While it’s not held at Howelsen Hill Ski Area, the event’s downtown setting—just across the river at West Lincoln Park—offers a vibrant open-air experience just steps from the Yampa River Core Trail, Bud Werner Memorial Library, and Steamboat Art Museum.

Who It’s For

Art in the Park is designed for everyone: from collectors and craft lovers to families, foodies, and fans of live music. More than 120 juried artists from across the region showcase original works—ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, jewelry, photography, fiber art, and more.

Children enjoy the interactive kids’ zone, featuring complimentary craft stations, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and the always-popular bubble area. Adults often gravitate toward the beer garden, curated by Storm Peak Brewing Co., where lounge chairs and lawn games make it easy to spend an afternoon immersed in the sights and sounds of summer.

When It Happens

The 2025 edition of Art in the Park runs:

  • Saturday, July 12 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday, July 13 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Admission is free, and the event runs rain or shine. Live music and cultural performances happen throughout both days on the main stage, with a rotating lineup of regional musicians, local legends, and community groups.

Where It Happens

Art in the Park is hosted at West Lincoln Park, located at 1305 Lincoln Ave, just west of downtown Steamboat Springs. This lush green space—shaded by cottonwoods and bisected by the Yampa River—is walkable from local favorites like Seedhouse Coffee, Mountain Tap Brewery, and the Steamboat Farmers Market.

The festival site is just 10 minutes from Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) and accessible via U.S. Highway 40, with free parking available in designated downtown lots. Visitors can also utilize the Steamboat Springs Free Bus, which stops within a short walk of the venue.

Why It’s Special

What sets Art in the Park apart is its immersive, family-friendly atmosphere set against the dramatic natural beauty of the Routt National Forest. It’s a weekend where art spills out of tents, music fills the air, and the whole town feels like a gallery.

Signature features include:

  • Over 120 professional and emerging artists with handmade works for sale
  • A dedicated Kids’ Creative Corner with DIY stations, painting tables, and interactive play areas
  • A lively beer garden and lounge zone with games and shaded seating
  • A curated lineup of food trucks and culinary tents, with local bites ranging from fresh kettle corn and tacos to vegan fare and hand-rolled ice cream

Each year brings new vendors and surprise guests, while returning visitors know to expect high-quality curation and a warm, welcoming vibe.

The Takeaway
