Event details

Ann Morrison Park spreads wide along the Boise River each Fourth of July, giving the capital city’s Independence Day crowd room to picnic, eat and wander before a city-scale fireworks show fills the river corridor after dark. The scale here suits a crowd drawn from across the Treasure Valley rather than a single neighborhood.

What sets Boise’s celebration apart is the ease of the whole evening: food vendors and entertainment keep families occupied through the early evening hours, and the show itself launches directly over the river, giving spectators along both banks a clear view without needing to stake out a place hours in advance.

The evening schedule leaves plenty of daylight for exploring beforehand. The Boise River Greenbelt connects the park to downtown by an easy bike path, Lucky Peak Reservoir offers a cooling swim less than half an hour away, and Table Rock’s trails reward an early-morning hike before the day’s heat sets in. Boise’s ample lodging supply makes this one of the more flexible Fourth of July destinations in the state.
