When Lake Texoma locals declare winter officially over, they do it with a bonfire and a grin. Burning of the Socks is a lakeside spring kickoff at Buncombe Creek Marina, complete with live music, vendor stalls, and the playful tradition of tossing your cold-weather socks into the flames.
It’s built for families: kids’ games, a hot-dog roast, and a Polar Plunge for the brave. Come early for the market, stay for the afternoon buzz, then cap the day with a walk along the shoreline as boats start returning to the lake.
