Independence, Iowa takes its name seriously. The Celebrate Indee Independence Day Celebration returns July 3-4, 2026, at Riverwalk Parks along the Wapsipinicon River, with two full days of live music, food vendors, all-ages programming, and fireworks launched directly over the water each evening at approximately 10:30 p.m. It is one of Iowa’s most place-specific Fourth of July experiences, built entirely around the Wapsipinicon River corridor.

What to Expect
Programming runs from 9 a.m. both days. Music stages, food vendors, and community activities fill the daylight hours, while fireworks close each evening. The Riverwalk Parks setting means the waterfront is always close. You can move between the festival and the river all day without losing your place in the crowd.
