At the heart of the festival are the people it serves: families with children who revel in the Kid’s Tent activities, music aficionados who come to enjoy live performances by bands from all over Appalachia, and food enthusiasts who savor the diverse offerings from local vendors. The festival also attracts boaters and anglers who appreciate the scenic and rejuvenated Cheat River watershed. Athletes and adventure seekers are drawn to the various races and activities, such as the 5K Foot Race and the mass start downriver race known as Rick Gusic’s Massacre-ence.
