If your kids are curious about fishing, this is the easiest way to make it feel like an adventure. The Friends of Beavers Bend Youth Trout Fishing Derby welcomes young anglers to the Spillway Creek area in Beavers Bend State Park for a low-pressure afternoon of casting, cheering, and prize-worthy excitement.
Registration begins at noon, fishing runs from 1–2:30 p.m., and families can turn the derby into a full day with a picnic by Broken Bow Lake or a short walk on a nearby forest trail. Bring a rod and tackle, plus snacks and sunscreen.
