Event details

GeoWoodstock XXII Main Event Day lands at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson on Saturday, May 23, 2026, the centerpiece of a long Memorial Day weekend for geocachers. You will join thousands of players to swap stories, trade trackables, and compare finds, whether you are a longtime seeker or just curious about the hobby. We come for the community and the well-run logistics, and you will feel the momentum as soon as you step on site.

Plan to spend most of your day in the Meadowlark and Sunflower South buildings, where you will find the highest concentration of specialized vendors, gear stalls, and informal meetups. Expect expert talks and hands-on workshops designed for every experience level, plus an easy rhythm of sessions and browsing in between. For big moments, head to the main stage in the People’s Bank and Trust Arena for keynote speakers and the event finale.

Arrive by 8:00 AM to simplify parking and reduce time in early registration lines. Admission is free, but limited gear packages and commemorative shirts can sell out well ahead of the weekend, so plan purchases early if you want them. Wear comfortable walking shoes, carry a reusable water bottle, and count on an indoor-focused program that runs as scheduled rain or shine. Dogs are generally welcome in outdoor areas of the fairgrounds; confirm individual building rules before bringing them inside.

When you want a break from the halls, the Kansas prairie around Hutchinson opens up plenty of nearby caching in Reno County, and you can also reset at the local zoo or a nature center before evening social time. For the simplest commute, book lodging in central Hutchinson or near the Hilton Garden Inn, then walk or drive straight to the fairgrounds. If you prefer more space, consider regional rentals or rural stays found through Lake.com and use them as a calm base for the weekend.
