The Grand Canyon Star Party pairs one of America’s most dramatic landscapes with some of its clearest dark skies, as astronomers and park volunteers lead evening talks, constellation tours, and telescope viewing near the South Rim visitor center. What makes this gathering special for traveling families is its rare pairing of daytime and nighttime wonder: children can spend the afternoon peering into the canyon from rim trails and scenic overlooks, then return after dark for a genuinely different kind of view through a volunteer’s telescope.
