On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, MS hosts the HBCU Labor Day Classic: Battle of the Bands & Fanfest. Beginning at 2 PM, 10 elite HBCU marching bands perform in a friendly competition, with pre-game and halftime showcases. A FanFest opens at noon on the concourse with local food trucks serving soul-food favorites, interactive photo booths, and DJ sets spinning classics. Admission is free; seating is first-come, first-served.
