Heated lakefront igloos for winter sips and bites
Reserve a heated lakefront igloo for specialty cocktails and bites with marina views—a unique winter dining experience at The Coeur d’Alene Resort.
Event details
Winter on Lake Coeur d’Alene gets an upgrade at Whispers Restaurant, where the Coeur d’Alene Resort sets up heated, weatherproof igloos on the waterfront patio from late November through February. Each clear-topped dome seats 4-6 guests and comes with its own heater, blankets, and marina views, turning a cold-weather dinner or drinks into a cozy, semi-private experience that feels like winter camping without the freeze.
Reservations are required and book up fast (often weeks in advance for weekend slots), with 90-minute time limits during peak hours. The igloo menu features shareable appetizers, signature cocktails, wine, and desserts, all served tableside while you watch boats rock gently in their slips and the downtown lights reflect off the water. Pricing runs higher than standard patio seating, but the novelty and Instagram appeal make it a popular splurge for anniversaries, proposals, and holiday gatherings.
Pair igloo dining with a winter stay at a Lake.com property near the resort district, where you’ll have walking access to the holiday light displays, ice skating at McEuen Park (seasonal), and the Resort’s other cold-weather amenities. Make it a full winter weekend: book your igloo for Friday evening, spend Saturday exploring Tubbs Hill’s snowy trails, then finish with Sunday brunch at Crafted Tap House & Kitchen (opened 2014) before checking out. The shoulder season means lower rental rates and a quieter, more intimate version of Coeur d’Alene’s waterfront.
