Classic cars cruise into Broken Bow for Rod Run
Classic cars and cruisers roll into Broken Bow for a weekend of chrome, camaraderie, and photo-worthy rides near Beavers Bend.
Event details
Chrome bumpers and classic engines take over Broken Bow each spring for the Kiamichi Street Rods Rod Run, a weekend car show that attracts hot rods, muscle cars, and vintage trucks from across the region. You’ll walk rows of meticulously restored rides, talk shop with owners who drove hundreds of miles to show off their work, and snap photos against a backdrop of Ouachita Mountain pines.
The event typically happens in late April or early May, with cars lining up downtown and along Highway 259. There’s no admission fee to browse the show, and most owners are happy to pop the hood and share restoration stories. Bring comfortable shoes for walking between display areas, and expect crowds to peak Saturday afternoon.
Book a lakefront cabin through Lake.com and turn car show Saturday into a full weekend. Mornings are quiet on Broken Bow Lake (perfect for fishing or a pontoon cruise), afternoons belong to the chrome and conversation downtown, and evenings let you unwind with a lake view and a grill.
