Trade screen time for fresh air on the annual Leprechaun Leap Hike at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, just south of Mandan. Families follow a trail of riddles and scavenger-hunt clues through rolling hills above the Heart and Missouri River bottoms, with plenty of stops for photos and laughs.
Arrive a little early to get oriented at the trailhead, then finish the afternoon with the satisfaction of cracking the final clue. The hike is short and kid-friendly, and a park vehicle permit is required for entry.
