Event details

For 74 consecutive years and counting, the Naja Shrine Circus has set up its three rings inside Rapid City’s largest arena, now known as The Monument at 444 North Mount Rushmore Road.

Held the first weekend of May, the 2025 dates run May 2 through 4. The circus features five performances, with shows on Friday and Saturday at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, plus a Sunday matinee at 2:00 PM.

General admission tickets cost $19 for adults and $12 for children ages one through twelve, with prices increasing by one dollar if purchased at the door. Reserved seating in sections 103 to 106 and 113 to 116, rows one through six, is priced at $24 and must be purchased through the Shrine Circus Office by calling 605 343 4076 or in person at 4091 Sturgis Road. Children under one year of age may sit free on a lap.

The circus benefits the Naja Shriners’ mission to transport children to Shriners Hospitals for Children, primarily serving the Twin Cities location.

The show day experience

Doors open one hour before each performance, giving families time to walk the floor, watch performers warm up, and see the animals up close. Pre show and intermission activities include elephant rides, pony rides, and face painting, each available for an additional fee.

The Rapid City Shrine Clowns, Naja’s largest and most active unit since the early 1960s, entertain and interact with the crowd throughout the event. Strollers and large bags are not permitted, so parents should plan to carry toddlers or use a carrier. Cameras are allowed inside the venue.

Parking and seating

Parking across The Monument’s lots is free, with more than 4,000 spaces available. ADA accessible parking is provided in Lot B on the west side and Lot E1 on the east side.

The recently upgraded Summit Arena seats approximately 12,500 guests and offers clear sightlines from every seat, ensuring good views of all three rings.
