Tap, taste, and learn maple syrup basics
A parent-and-kid nature program at Hartman Reserve with maple syrup stories, simple demonstrations, and sweet samples before a stroll on reserve trails.
Event details
Spring arrives early in Iowa’s woods with the promise of sap. This Nestling Naturalists program at Hartman Reserve is designed for little explorers and their grown-ups, mixing short activities and nature stories with the tasty science of maple syrup.
After the program, take your sugar-high outside: Hartman’s trails thread past ponds and bottomland forest, a peaceful place to spot woodpeckers and the first green along the Cedar River corridor.
