A statewide birding day that starts before dawn
Join teams across New Jersey for a friendly birding challenge, with hotspots from Cape May to the Delaware River and tallying all day long.
Event details
The World Series of Birding is part scavenger hunt, part conservation fundraiser, and it’s a fun excuse to explore New Jersey’s best spring habitats. Teams fan out across the state on a single Saturday, chasing migrating warblers in Cape May, waterfowl on bays and reservoirs, and raptors along ridgelines.
Families can keep it simple by picking one bird-rich park and turning the day into a binoculars-and-picnic adventure. Bring a field guide, pack snacks, and let kids lead the tally as you hop between trails, marsh overlooks, and waterfront boardwalks.
