A craft-packed weekend in downtown North Conway
Shop 100+ booths at Schouler Park in North Conway, beside the Scenic Railroad. Free admission, live music, and easy access to mountain trails.
Event details
The North Conway Memorial Day Weekend Craft Fair turns Schouler Park into an open-air gallery in the center of the White Mountains, directly across from the historic Conway Scenic Railroad. You browse more than 100 exhibitors focused on American-made work, from professional-grade pottery and fine woodworking to cabin-ready decor that fits New Hampshire’s rugged style. Live music runs throughout the day, with local acts including North River.
You get a setting that works for both serious collectors and families: wide lawns, orderly rows of white tents near the community center, and an easy walking loop that keeps the pace comfortable. Step out of the park and you are immediately in North Conway Village for boutiques, cafés, and the railroad platform, where you can watch vintage trains arrive and depart. Many visitors use the fair as a morning anchor, then head to the Kancamagus Highway for a hike, or to the Saco River for a paddle.
Plan for a lively holiday-weekend crowd, with free admission and a broad mix of categories such as jewelry, glasswork, art prints, fiber arts, and select gourmet items from regional makers. If you want the strongest selection and a calmer browse, arrive at the 10:00 AM opening. The event runs rain or shine, with tents operating unless extreme weather is forecast.
For logistics, aim for free street parking on Main Street or the public lots around the park before they fill, and bring a reusable tote since most vendors can take credit cards or digital payments like Venmo. Pack high SPF sunscreen and light layers because sun and mountain breezes can trade places quickly. If you are traveling with kids, the adjacent playground and splash pad are close by; pets are welcome on leash. Schouler Park is wheelchair accessible, with paved paths and public restrooms at the community center, and you can stay close by at walkable inns like the Kearsarge Inn or choose vacation rentals in Cathedral Ledge or Intervale.
