Southwest Kansas feels wonderfully open in spring, and Meade State Park makes a great base for families who like their fun outdoors. OK Kids Day brings kid-friendly activities to the park for an easy afternoon of learning, exploring, and trying something new before heading back to the shoreline.
After the program, stick around for a mellow walk and a picnic near the water. If you are road-tripping the high plains, consider an overnight close to the lake so you can catch sunrise and squeeze in one more trail loop.
