Cajun street party brings flavor to Broken Bow
A Cajun-inspired street party with big flavors, live music, and family fun—an easy excuse for a spring weekend in Broken Bow.
Event details
Broken Bow channels New Orleans energy each spring with Okie Gras, a street party built for families, foodies, and anyone who appreciates good music with a lakeside twist. You’ll find live bands on outdoor stages, food vendors lining the blocks, and a parade that winds through downtown while kids collect beads and adults sample local BBQ and craft beer.
The festival typically runs on a Saturday in late April or early May, with free admission and street closures starting mid-morning. Parking fills up fast near the main stage, so plan to arrive before 11 a.m. or park at outlying lots and walk in. Bring sunscreen, camp chairs, and cash for vendors (many don’t take cards).
Make it a full lake weekend by booking a cabin on Broken Bow Lake through Lake.com. Mornings are perfect for kayaking or hiking the Beavers Bend trails, afternoons for festival hopping, and evenings for grilling back at your rental while the pines catch the sunset.
