Event details

Leavenworth’s biggest celebration stretches across three October weekends (3-4, 10-11, 17-18) as the Bavarian village transforms into a full-scale festival featuring beer gardens at two venues, three stages of live entertainment, and crowds ready to sing, dance, and toast autumn with serious enthusiasm. The Leavenworth Festhalle at 820 Front Street and Front Street Park Beer Garden host Fridays 6 PM to midnight and Saturdays noon to midnight, pouring German imports including Hofbräu München’s Oktoberfestbier, Dunkel, Hefe Weizen, and Original Lager alongside Paulaner, Ayinger, Spaten, and Weihenstephaner. The custom Leavenworth Festbier, brewed exclusively for Oktoberfest through collaboration between Icicle Brewing Co., Doghaus Brewery, and Blewett Brewing, represents the Northwest twist on Bavarian tradition. Pacific Northwest wines and hard ciders round out the beverage selection for those who prefer grapes and apples to barley and hops.

Tickets go on sale July 1 at leavenworth.org/oktoberfest, with VIP tables featuring reserved seating, commemorative steins, and dedicated service selling out quickly. The entertainment lineup delivers high energy across all three stages with West Coast Prost’s polka variety, Austria’s Die Jungen Weststeirer bringing authentic Alpine music, professional yodeler Michael Stoessl from Germany, traditional dance troupes Enzian Schuhplattler and Tirolean Dancers, and crowd favorite Manuela Horn performing multiple weekends. The Grand March kicks off Saturdays at 11:30 AM with the Muenchner Kindl leading a Bavarian procession featuring the Musikkapelle, decorated wagons, and the mayor in a horse-drawn carriage. The 15,000-square-foot Kinderplatz offers free admission with a 62-foot Ferris wheel, carousel, root beer garden, and games (kids welcome until 9 PM), plus special Sunday openings October 5 and 12. Free Link Transit Route 32 shuttle from Wilkommen Park-and-Ride behind Safeway handles parking challenges, running every 15 minutes during peak times.

München Haus serves bratwurst year-round but reaches peak atmosphere during Oktoberfest weekends, while Andreas Keller features live accordion music and schnitzel that pairs perfectly with pre-festival dining. Lake Wenatchee sits 21 miles north for post-festival recovery through autumn hikes and crisp mountain air, while Lake Chelan lies an hour northeast where fall wine harvest creates its own celebration through tasting rooms and vineyard tours. Lake.com features cabin rentals at both lakes for travelers who want to extend Oktoberfest weekends into full autumn escapes, balancing beer garden revelry with mornings paddling calm water and afternoons exploring the kind of Cascade scenery that makes October in Washington worth every crowded street and long beer line.
