The Mississippi becomes the Quad Cities’ fireworks stage
Watch Red, White and Boom! from LeClaire Park as fireworks launch from barges in the middle of the Mississippi River on July 3.
Event details
Red, White and Boom! is one of the biggest non-duplicate Iowa additions because it transforms the Mississippi River into the main stage for one of the Quad Cities’ most recognizable holiday traditions. The official event site says fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. on July 3 and are shot in sync to music from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River, with Davenport’s LeClaire Park named among the primary viewing areas. That river-centered setup is exactly why the event fits this project so well. For travelers, it delivers the scale of a major metro show while still feeling tied to the water. The riverfront lawn, food vendors, bandshell, and broad Mississippi views make it feel like a true destination event, not just a short fireworks stop.
