Event details

Round Valley’s Fourth of July Rodeo has run continuously for 114 years, making it a defining holiday tradition in the Springerville-Eagar area and one of the state’s longest-standing Independence Day events. The noon program includes ranch bronc, saddle bronc, bull riding, barrel racing, breakaway, steer wrestling, calf roping, team roping, and crowd-pleasing special races.

Families drawn to genuine Western tradition over touring-circuit polish will find real value here: this is a community rodeo built on more than a century of continuous local participation, giving visitors a sense of place that a larger, more commercial rodeo elsewhere simply can’t replicate on Independence Day, since generations of the same ranch families still compete on these same grounds.

The rodeo sits within an all-day regional celebration and follows a Friday-night dance, giving visitors good reason to stay in the area rather than passing through for a single afternoon. Lyman Lake, mountain trails, and the White Mountains’ cooler summer weather extend the trip well beyond the arena and its century-old traditions, rewarding families who linger for the full holiday weekend.
