On Monday, September 1, 2025, swimmers participate in the Roy Webster Cross-Channel Swim across the Columbia River from Hood River, OR to Washington. Established in 1942, this tradition draws competitive and recreational swimmers alike. Support boats and safety kayakers accompany participants. Post-swim festivities at the Hood River Marina include awards and a riverside barbecue .
