Free Memorial weekend festival with carnival and fireworks
Oak Grove salutes Fort Campbell with a free two-day festival, May 23-24, 2026, featuring rides, games, live music, parachute jumps, and fireworks.
Event details
Spring Into Summer Festival Salutes Fort Campbell returns Memorial Day weekend to War Memorial Walking Trail Park in Oak Grove, Kentucky, just outside the gates of Fort Campbell. You will find a focused tribute to the military community paired with a well-run public festival, making it easy to attend with family or friends. Expect open lawns, walking trails, and clear sightlines for the weekend’s biggest moments.
During the day, you can move through a full carnival with free rides and games, plus food and drink vendors throughout the grounds. Plan to claim your spot early for the veteran parachute jump team, which uses the park’s open fields and draws the largest crowds. Later, the main stage takes over with live bands and evening concerts.
Sunday night closes the weekend with a synchronized fireworks show that signals the start of the summer season. For the smoothest day, arrive by 2:00 PM for the jumps and the evening sets, bring cash for vendors, and wear comfortable shoes for the trails. After sunset, a light jacket helps, and a folding chair or sturdy blanket makes the fireworks finale more comfortable.
Use the designated parking areas along Walter Garrett Lane and aim to arrive early to reduce time in traffic near the entrance. This is a family-oriented event, and pets are generally not permitted within the main festival activities for safety. If you are traveling in, you can stay in Oak Grove or nearby Clarksville for convenient hotel access, or look for rentals near the Cumberland River, including options you can search through Lake.com.
