A picture-perfect Shore parade honors Memorial Day
Spring Lake’s Memorial Day parade and ceremony pair small-town tradition with a seaside backdrop, ending near Wreck Pond and the boardwalk.
Event details
On May 25, 2026, the Spring Lake Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony gives you a polished, local view of the Jersey Shore as the season shifts into summer. You will start at H.W. Mountz School, then follow the procession through Spring Lake’s tree-lined streets to Veterans Park by Wreck Pond, where the morning ends with a formal program of speakers and tributes.
You can expect marching bands, veterans groups, and community organizations, with a mood that stays respectful while still feeling celebratory. The route is easy to walk and easy to join, even if you arrive after the start. Plan to stay through the ceremony at the park, then head out on foot to the beach or the village shopping district nearby.
Arrive by 10:00 AM for street parking and a good viewing spot along Tuttle or Sussex Avenue. Attendance is free and you do not need tickets. Bring a reusable water bottle, comfortable shoes, and high-SPF sunscreen since shade at Veterans Park is limited; if rain moves in, the ceremony may shift indoors to the school or a municipal building, so check town social media.
For a convenient weekend, book a Victorian-style inn or boutique hotel in the village so you can walk to the route and skip driving. If you are coming from New York or North Jersey, NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line stops in Spring Lake. Dogs are generally welcome on leash along the parade route, but keep your distance if your dog is sensitive to band noise or crowds.
