Event details

You will find more than 200 vendors lining Main Street and Broadway when Nyack closes its downtown to cars for SeptemberFest on September 13, 2026. The Nyack Chamber of Commerce has organized this free street fair since the early 1980s, and it runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM sharp (not 7am-6pm).

Booths stretch across eight blocks of historic Victorian brick storefronts, offering handmade jewelry, original art, vintage finds, antiques, photography, and quality crafts alongside food trucks and live music at the Main Street Gazebo. Past fairs have featured local bands like The Scoop and Bulletproof Heart performing classic rock and grunge hits at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Expect peak crowds between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, when the fairgoers browsing outdoor vendor tables mix with locals grabbing lunch at sidewalk cafes offering SeptemberFest specials.

Parking is completely free on Sundays throughout Nyack, both on-street and in the village’s five municipal parking lots. Your best bet is arriving by 10:00 AM to claim a spot in one of the municipal lots off Route 59 before they fill. If you are coming by train, take Metro-North from Grand Central to Tarrytown Station, then catch the Hudson Link bus for a 15-minute ride west into downtown Nyack.

Pets are not allowed at the street fair by order of the Village of Nyack, so leave your dog at home for this one. The fair runs rain or shine, so bring a light jacket if September showers threaten. If you miss this September fair, the village hosts similar events in spring (SpringFest) and October (Nyack’s Famous Street Fair, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026).

Between browsing vendor booths, walk two blocks east to Memorial Park at the end of Depew Street. This 11-acre Hudson River waterfront park, deeded to the village in 1935, features a playground, splash pad, basketball court, skatepark, and a viewing pier with sightlines across to the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge (formerly Tappan Zee Bridge). Kids can cool off at the bridge-themed water features while parents rest on benches overlooking the river.

After the fair wraps at 5:00 PM, grab dinner at Strawberry Place (117 Main Street, serving homemade meals since 1974), where the Cuccia family has operated Nyack’s oldest family-run restaurant for three generations. The River Club, opened in 1984 by Michael Hekker at the marina, offers waterfront dining with Hudson River views and live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
