Peak Great Lakes migration at Tawas Point
Watch spring migration at Tawas Point with education stations and all-day birding, set on a sandy Lake Huron point famous for warblers and waterbirds.
Event details
Tawas Point is the kind of place birders talk about in superlatives, and in mid-May it earns them. As migrants funnel along the Lake Huron shoreline, the park becomes a front-row seat for warblers, shorebirds, and waves of waterfowl that seem to appear out of nowhere.
Even if you’re new to birding, the on-site education stations make it approachable. Bring binoculars, pack snacks, and plan to stay late, because the best moments often arrive in unexpected bursts.
