The club holds membership in US Sailing & the South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association (SAYRA). The club is also a member of the Yachting Club of America. It annually hosts the Santa Elena Regatta, the Lowcountry Regatta, and the Pluff Mud Regatta. It also hosts Beaufort Community Sailing & Boating (BCSB), a non-profit organization that offers certified instruction to the junior sailors of tomorrow.
