The Charleston Maritime Center was completed in October 1997 to bring the community in touch with the waterfront and Charleston’s rich maritime history. The center features a deep-water, full-service marina.Located near the new South Carolina Aquarium, the Charleston Maritime Center is the first of many projects in Charleston’s long-range plan to redevelop and revitalize the historic waterfront and provide waters-edge access to its residents and visitors. It is located at 10 Wharfside Street, near the intersection of Calhoun and Concord streets.The Charleston Maritime Center is conveniently located near the historic district in downtown, and within easy walking distance are the market, several hotels, the King Street shopping district, and waterfront park.Currently, the Charleston Maritime Center has a marina that can accommodate boats up to 120 feet in length and offers dockage without the restriction of any overpasses or bridges.
