City Point Yacht Club, situated at 347 Kimberly Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut, stands as a testament to maritime history and community. Founded in 1895, it is the oldest continuously operating yacht club in the United States. The club’s property spans both the New Haven and West Haven sides of the West River, offering a serene and historic setting for boating, fishing, and other waterfront activities.

The club’s roots are intertwined with the development of City Point, a planned suburban area established in 1868 on the former Oyster Point peninsula. The club’s early activities included constructing a wharf and purchasing a box boat, setting the stage for its long-standing commitment to sailors and boaters.

Today, City Point Yacht Club provides 182 berths for members, along with passenger berths, fueling, and pump-out services for the public. Its marinas and facilities blend seamlessly into the picturesque Connecticut shoreline, making it a coveted destination for those who appreciate the rich heritage and natural beauty of the area.
