Clipper Yacht Harbor, situated at 310 Harbor Drive in Sausalito, California, is a maritime jewel that has been a cornerstone of the city’s waterfront since 1947. Founded by a group of visionary boaters, this marina was initially known as Sausalito Yacht Harbor but was later renamed in honor of the historic clipper ships that once sailed the area during the Gold Rush era.
Cliff Pedersen, a veteran of the Merchant Marines, played a pivotal role in shaping the harbor’s inception, utilizing 40 acres of land acquired through the War Assets Administration. Today, Clipper Yacht Harbor stands as Sausalito’s largest and most diverse full-service harbor, boasting over 700 slips and dry storage spaces. It offers spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline and Mt. Tamalpais, along with state-of-the-art facilities, a fuel dock, and a pump-out station.
Known for its exceptional service and commitment to environmental sustainability, Clipper Yacht Harbor continues to enhance its facilities, adding new slips to meet the growing demand for boat storage. This marina remains a premier destination for boaters and visitors, blending rich history with modern amenities in a setting that is both elegant and functional.
