Commodore Perry Yacht Club, situated at 664 W Bayfront Highway in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a vibrant community of boating enthusiasts that has been a staple on the eastern shore of Presque Isle Bay since its inception. Founded in 1972 by a group of boaters seeking a club closer to home, the yacht club was officially chartered as a nonprofit corporation in 1973. Named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, the naval commander who played a pivotal role in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812, the club honors a rich maritime history.
The club offers over 200 slips in its expansive marina, along with a well-appointed clubhouse, a swimming pool, and a range of amenities. Members enjoy a variety of activities, including sailing races, social gatherings, and educational programs. With its scenic bayfront location just minutes from downtown Erie, Commodore Perry Yacht Club provides a welcoming and affordable haven for both cruisers and sailors, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and a shared passion for the water. Very nice new floating docks. None at the T-heads. If you are a member of the “local” yacht clubs you may have recipocity but no others.
