Welcome to First Light Boatworks & Marine Railway. We build, restore, service, & sail wooden boats here on Cape Cod. Our yard sits on the Mill Pond in Chatham’s Old Village and has been the site of a long, illustrious history in the world of wooden boats. From the Pease Brothers, to noted N.A. Spaulding Dunbar who started the yard back in the 1930’s, First Light continues the heritage of great boat builders who have operated from this cherished location.Simply put, we love what we do and recognize our good fortune in being able to do it. The best part is having that reveal itself in all aspects of our work.
