Gloucester Harbormaster Town Dock (Solomon Jacobs Public Pier)

The mission of the Gloucester Health Department is to promote physical and mental health and to prevent disease, injury and disability in the City of Gloucester, Massachusetts. The department is mandated to enforce State and Local regulations to address communicable diseases, food safety, housing, sewage, well water, and environmental hazards.The Gloucester Board of Health consists of knowledgeable citizen-volunteers and is charged with the protection of public health, by developing, implementing, and enforcing health laws.The Gloucester Health Department, is an agent of the Board of Health and is comprised of experts that support permitting, inspection, and enforcement of State and Local regulations, tracking and prevention of communicable diseases, and education and program development to support mental and physical health.
