Quadra Island is the largest and most populated of the Discovery Islands. Located at the northern end of the Strait of Georgia, it is nestled between Vancouver Island and the mainland coast and lies approximately three and a half kilometers east of Campbell River. The waters surrounding Quadra are a boaters dream with numerous inlets and islands to explore. Popular nearby destinations include Bute Inlet, Toba Inlet, Cortes Island, and Desolation Sound. The area is well known for its breathtaking scenery, salmon fishing, and abundant wildlife including whales, dolphins, bald eagles, and bears.The Quadra Island Harbour Authority manages two locations, Quathiaski Cove, located on the west side of the island and Heriot Bay, located on the east side. Both provide safe well-maintained moorage facilities for a wide-ranging group of marine users year round. Each is surrounded by a small community providing plenty of services and many things to see and do. Check the links in the menu for more information about each location.Quadra Island Harbour Authority is one of 54 Harbour Authorities providing service to the Commercial Fishing Fleet on the BC coast. It was incorporated in 1996 in response to Fisheries and Oceans Small Craft Harbours Branch initiative to bring local community management to the publicly-owned Commercial Fishing Harbours on the BC coast.
