Note that the Great Wicomico River Light was removed in 2015, but still shows up on many paper and electronic charts. Older charts show the entrance channel as being shallow. USCG has updated the newest charts to show deep water (6.5 feet) minimum. October 2011: 6 feet minimum all the way to the first slips of the marina, at dead low water. You must head toward R4 and then turn and run straight into the channel. The channel is 10 feet all the way to R4. Maintenance dredging to 8 feet was performed in 2015. Very protected harbor with virtually no current and minimal wind
