Lakehead Boat Basin usually starts launching boats when the first ice leaves the harbor. This is usually late March or early April. R.V. parking opens up June 1 with the possibility of some sites available in late May. For other activity calendars please click on the links.Lakehead Boat Basin offers 30 RV parking sites. Twelve of the sites have water, electricity and sewer. These sites are located immediately to the right as you enter into the gated area and overlook the main front dockage area of the marina. The other eighteen sites have electricity and water. These sites are located to the left and behind the building and overlook the Duluth hills, marina, and the famous Aerial Lift Bridge. All locations are on blacktop (the area used for boat storage in the winter).The location of the marina is close to downtown (10 blocks) and the Canal Park Area (3 blocks) allowing you to leave your vehicle and tour many sites by foot. The Marine Museum located in Canal Park is the most visited tourist attraction in Minnesota. The marina is the best area to view the July 4th fireworks and closest RV area to the Bayfront Park which hosts many other outdoor concerts.
